Home Renovation Subsidy Programme 2026

The new home renovation subsidy programme, expected to launch in 2026, is a significant opportunity to genuinely upgrade your home with a high subsidy rate. Coverage can reach up to 90% of the total cost, with funding of up to €36,000 per property. The programme allows for a full renovation, covering a broad range of works that go far beyond the usual energy-efficiency upgrades.

Applications are expected to open in May–June 2026, through a dedicated online platform, with the subsidy calculated up to a ceiling of €300 per square metre. Unlike earlier programmes, this one focuses on the overall upgrade of your interior space, with particular emphasis on aesthetics, functionality and modern design.

The programme is aimed at home owners — mostly of older properties — who want to upgrade their home or bring it back into full working order. It covers homes of up to roughly 120 m², with income and social criteria taken into account, and higher subsidy rates for vulnerable groups, young couples, families and people with increased needs.

Eligible works include all the main renovation upgrades — bathroom and kitchen renovations, new floors and wall finishes, paintwork and decorative finishes, and upgrades to plumbing and electrical systems. Selected energy-efficiency upgrades are also possible, although these are not the main focus of the programme as they are in other funding schemes.

The process involves submitting your application online, having your details assessed and approved, then carrying out the works and receiving the subsidy based on documented invoices. The works should be completed within a defined timeframe after approval, in line with the final specifications to be announced.

This programme is an excellent opportunity to upgrade your home — increasing the property's value and meaningfully improving how you live in it day to day. Our team handles design and implementation end to end, guiding you through every step of the process.
